Episode 1: Abandoned

I don't know who my parents are. I was abandoned. I don't know who I am. I was taken in. I was taken in by an old wizard. He treated me with dignity, respect, and love. He was my teacher, my mentor, and my father. I lived with him for 17 years. He taught me so many things including a few spells! Then came my 18th birthday. It was wonderful. He conjured up a cake with three layers and six candles on each layer. When I blew out the candles, he was gone. I saw a box on the table, a present. I opened it and found a note. It read:

My dear boy, By the time you receive this letter, I will have been dead for five years. I let nature finish your studies. You have grown into such a strong lad. I will always be here. I am all around you. Remember what you have learned. I can teach you no more. It is time for you to leave the nest. Look in my room. At the foot of the bed there is a box. Take it with you. Good luck my son. Subaltern And with that, I did as he said. At the foot of his bed was a box. It contained a white cloak. The note attached said: "I found this with you. You were the son of a knight clan long gone; the Dragoon Clan. At your side were also two identical daggers. Go to the town of Gersidi. There you will learn how to use them." I took the cloak, the daggers a few blank scrolls for spells I may learn on the way, and a medallion. On it was a symbol that I did not recognize. With that, I took one last look at the only home I knew, headed out the door and went west to Gersidi.

Episode 2: Enter Ichijyo

I have just left another town. I leave with another spell, more knowledge. It has been over a month since I started my journey. I learned how to use my weapons in Gersidi. Nothing to it. I have all I could ever need. I have spells and powers people can only dream of. I have skills that some people study for a lifetime and never master. So what is missing? I lay there thinking as I huddle in my sleeping bag and fall asleep under the stars. The next day, I was traveling through the woods and happened into a small tavern, which at the time, was named Glenshadow's Tavern. I walked in and made a few friends. I bought some tofu from a boy named Jojo Kid and even met the tavern owner, Jase Valen Glenshadow. However, my life would take a turn when I met the one named Ichijyo. I had never met such a womanizer nor had I ever met a man so dignified and honorable. He taught me the art of combat; open handed and weaponry. During one of my training sessions, he pulled out a pair of daggers quite like my own. In his hands they glowed. He threw them in the air and they obeyed his every command. He said, "Someday you will be able to do that with your daggers. I sense a strong presence in your daggers and a strong character in you." I watched him in awe. Then he yelled out, "Daggers merge!" suddenly, in a blinding flash the daggers formed a huge sword. "She's a beauty isn't she? This is the Megami Edge. She is an encasement of my soul. We act as one." I was truly amazed. One day in the tavern, Ichijyo met a woman and they became very close. A few weeks after she had disappeared without a trace. He searched high and low for her; nothing. He fell into a deep depression. Until the fair Lady Jasmin entered his life. He was his old self again. They grew very close as well. However, one day as we all sat and enjoyed a few rounds of feywine, a woman walked into the taern and yelled out his name as he and Lady Jasmin were kissing. He turned and was shocked to see Angel, the other woman who was thought dead. The two women argued over who lay claim to his heart, then he was forced to choose: the one whom his heart was once dedicated to or the one who mended it. He could not choose. He felt that he had dishonored not only himself, but also violated the codes of love. So he pulled out his twin daggers and plunged them into his heart. The women stood there in shock. "Ichijyo! NO!" I tried to stop him, but it was too late. I tried a heal spell, but because he did it out of love, I could not heal him. As I wept with him in my arms, dying, he handed me his daggers, please take care of the daggers. "Megami Edge..." he said softly. The daggers merged. "Dak, I know you are a knight. So please take my blade." He coughed out blood. "I can't" I sobbed, "that is you." He looked at me and implored me to take Megami. As I took hold of the great blade, it separated into the daggers again. Except this time my daggers left my sheaths. The four daggers flew into the air and with a blinding light merged into a long sword. With his final breathes he said, "Seikatsu Blade, take care of him. Bye my friend." He went limp right after. I buried him in the forest.

Episode 3: Alone Again

Day after day after day I returned to the tavern sitting alone in the dark corner. I had never felt so alone, so disconnected from myself and the rest of the world. As I sat there one day, a woman entered the tavern. She had silver hair and eyes and sat alone on the couch in front of the fireplace. For one reason or another, I walked up to her. I was so loaded with feywine I said something that offended her. But despite a rough beginning, Quickenil and I soon became friends. Soon after we merged our souls. We went through so much together; battles, blindness, everything. We fell in love and were married in the tavern where we met. The ceremony was performed by Silvara our good friend. I was happy again. I had never known a feeling quite like this. I knew the answer to my question in the forest. What I was missing was love. She filled that hole. For that I could never repay her.

Episode 4: Till Death Do Us Part

One day a person was being chased into the tavern by a nasty creature that possessed bodies and stole souls. Quick and I defended the person. The demon vowed to return and take revenge upon us both. He then hastily retreated. As my love and I sat in the tavern on a nice day, the demon returned. Quickenil, a man named DPC and I fought the demon. He was strong and we could not destroy him. He then possesed Quick's body. He attempted to steal her soul, but since our souls were merged, he could not. "Don't hurt her!" I yelled. "Take me!" Then I heard a voice say "Kill him now while he is in me!" I blinked. "Quick?!" I could not do it. How could I kill my wife? She yelled out this time in voice, "You must strike me down! Hurry!" I could not do it. DPC understood. He looked at me and I nodded my head. With that he shot her six times. She fell to the ground. I held her in my arms as I did Ichijyo. "No Quick. Don't die please don't." I cried. The demon was vanquished at a price. As she lay in my arms she kissed me softly and said, "I love you." Just as my best friend had died in my arms, so my wife did as well. I pulled out the daggers. I could not live without my wife. Just before I was about to thrust them into me, her voice said for me not to. I could only weep. "I love you." I said in a whisper at her ear. I was alone again. The day of her funeral was at hand. Many friends joined the ceremony. DPC felt that it would not be right for him to attend, but I asked him to join us. Quick would have wanted him there. After the eulogy, an echoing voice filled the room. It said, "Oh my child. I am so proud of you. You sacrificed your life to save others." "Who are you?" I yelled out. The voice replied, "I am Myrael, her creator, her father, her God." I stuttered out, "C...can you..." With that I saw Quick move. My Wife was alive once again. It was nothing short of a miracle. My wife whom I cherished more than life itself was returned to me. Not only that, but she also told me that she was pregnant. Me a father.....

Episode 5: Boldly Gone

When the child was born we named him Myrael after the God who returned her to life. Soon after his birth, I received word that the town of Gersidi was being invaded. I kissed my wife and child goodbye. I proceeded to Gersidi, but I was too late. The town, the people, all gone. I then realized that Subaltern's cottage was nearby. I rode off pushing my steed to top speed. I reached the cottage and found it in ruin; burned to cinders. I was infuriated. I rode off killing the raiders to the north. I recognized their work. I was gone for many months. I received word that my son could talk and walk. I was torn between my fury and my love. During this time I also received word that a man named Hikari was looking for me at what had become Nia's Tavern. I rode back to the tavern.

Episode 6: Hikari's Light

On the way back to the tavern I ran into a man. We exchanged words and before we knew it we were engaged in battle. He was good. As we crossed swords, I noticed he wore a pendant like mine. I jumped back and looked at our pendants. "Who are you?" we asked each other in unison. "I am Dakishimeru, the last of...." He then demanded of me, "From which member of the Dragoon Clan did you steal that!?" I told him my story. The pendants we wore were the crest of the dragoon clan. We talked and I soon found that he was my brother and that our parents were killed by the raiders to the north. He barely survived. He thought that he was the only member of the clan left. He was merely a squire when our parents died. I took him under wing. I trained him as best I could. His character was indeed strong. His mind was focused. Now came the time.

Episode 7: Knight Time

Since I was the last knight of the Dragoon clan, I alone had the power to make my brother a knight. It was time for him to be tested. I challenged him to a duel. We fought each one step ahead of the other. We were at it for hours. As twilight settled, he bested me knocking the Seikatsu Blade out of my hand. As the Blade separated into the daggers, I told him how proud I was. In front of the lake near the site of Ichijyo's burial ground, I knighted my brother. Now we are the last knights of the Dragoon Clan. We vowed to find the murderers of our parents, but for now, we are happy knowing that we were not the last of our kind. Who knows, maybe there is another member out there. Someone who can add another piece to the puzzle of our lives.

Episode 8: From Here to Eternity

For now my brother and I have returned to the tavern. Found that after I had left, Quickenil and Myrael went to stay with our good friend Reno Starhopper. I will soon be on my way to see my wife again. I can hardly wait. This time, I will have a surprise for both of them, my brother. I know not what the future holds for all of us, but I know that at least we will face that uncertainty together.
