Hello, I'm Jill but I usually chat under the name of GUIDO (a high school nickname, long story) or wild clarinet woman. Sometimes I go as Saxgoddess although I suppose I'm just a sax slave...one must achieve goddessness!! I am a 27-year-old female (as if you couldn't tell) and a graduate student at Oregon State University where I got my undergraduate degree in animal science/pre-veterinary medicine, along with a minor in chemistry.

I am from the very tiny town of Rainier, Oregon (you may not be able to find it on a map...that's okay) where my parents still live. Rainier is about 45 minutes northwest of Portland in Columbia County. I grew up on a farm where we raised horses and sheep primarily, we also have a large "collection" of dogs and cats. I was a member of 4-H for nine years in eight different project areas. I even won a trip to the national congress in Chicago in 1993. I was also the HOBY ambassador from RHS in 1993 (I think) and went to China with HOBY in the summer of 1994.

When I'm not playing my clarinet or alto sax I can be found mudding. I am a creator at Looney Mud (looney.com 8888) with the character of Saxgoddess, and I can sometimes be found hanging out there. I was a creator at Dark Star mud, which closed a couple years ago but I still miss it, with the character of Porthos and a player at Discworld Mud (discworld.imaginary.com 4242) with the characters Porthos, Saxgoddess, Laszlo, Stavros, Brigid, GilGalad Hamtaro and Valentine. I also play Wheel of Time mud (wotmud.org 2222) as well, with several characters, the oldest and most well known being Stavros the Trolloc, Elspeth the Accepted, Dermot, Gabrielle (wannabe Gleewoman), Khory, Dukan the Ogier Seanchan, Adama, Dudley, Tigger and Galshan. I have several other characters that don't get played as often and I'm now a builder there as well. For more information on my favourite time-killer, check out my MUD page!

I also love to quilt, cross-stitch, take pictures with my snazzy Minolta camera with the large zoom lens, make scrap book pages, write fiction (especially fantasy) and poetry, sleep, ride and show horses, and collect baseball cards and gaming cards. In fact, I've got my own trading page, though I haven't been trading all that much in the past couple years. It's been a blast! As for music...It is my LIFE! (Yeah, I'm a band geek...and proud of it!) My favorites are country and Big Band Swing (Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw rock!) But I listen to just about everything except opera (I have sensitive ears) and most rap.

Nearly ten years ago (dang, has it been that long??) I discovered how fun marching band can be (my high school didn't have one) at OSU. I'm now retired from the OSUMB but my seven years as an OSU Bandsman (or is that Bandswoman?)were a total blast, and I have very fond memories of it. Check out the 1997 OSUMB Clarinet Section...we ROCK!! I also played in OSU's concert band (with clarinet) and the basketball pep band (with sax) and I still play alto sax in the gymnastics pep band. =) Check out the Official OSUMB page Here ! Las bandas son muy divertidas!! (My spanish is rather limited so please forgive any errors) :P~

A couple years ago I caught the acting bug as well. I got my first part winter term 1999 in OSU theatre's production of Tennessee William's Camino Real. My friend Daneice and I played street vendors and got to be on stage for 85% of the play. It was great fun. I was in the production of the Russian dark comedy The Suicide in winter term 2000. I got to play an old woman, which was pretty darn fun. Three years ago I took a playwriting class and had my play performed, to rave reviews by most of the people who came to see it, in June 2001. I've had a great time in the theatre here and have met some awesome people!
