In 1964, British sounding group names became the vogue. The name Quid, slang for a British pound note,
was jokingly suggested to us by Winnipeg radio DJ Darryl Burmingham. Because we emulated British rock groups
like the Rolling Stones and the Kinks, the name seemed apropos.
