1987 Reunion
The 'Shakin All Over Bands and Fans Reunion' took place at the Winnipeg Convention
Centre on June 28, 1987. All proceeds went to the Variety Club of Manitoba. Over 3000 Winnipeggers and
ex-Winnipeggers came out for a glimpse of the city’s musical past.
The cement floor of the cavernous
Convention Centre was literally shaking as eager baby boomers, their children and even some grandchildren
pressed toward the stage for a closer look at the star-studded lineup including Neil Young, Burton Cummings,
Randy Bachman, Fred Turner and of course, the Quid. Other bands performing included The Shondels, The Mongrels,
The Club 63 Galaxies, The Pallbearers, The Jury, and Chad Allan the ex-Guess Who lead singer who belted out the event’s
theme song 'Shakin All Over'.
The musicians, many of whom had not seen each other since the mid-1960s, volunteered
their time for the reunion. The event generated $40,000 for The Variety Club.
