35th VICA Skills USA Championships!!!
Kansas City, Missouri, June 28-July 3, 1999!!!!
We are excited to announce that Alabama Technical Education Students represented the Alabama Association of the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America in the 35th VICA Skills USA Championships in Kansas City Missouri on June 28th thru July 3, 1999. These winners are a clear indication of the quality of Technical Education in the State of Alabama. We here at SkillsUSA-VICA are very proud of these young men and women that represidented our state this past summer!! We here at Alabama SkillsUSA-VICA are also proud of our State Officers that went as well!! They did a fine job of showing to the rest of the country of how much SkillsUSA-VICA means to them!! The State Officers went threw some meetings that took a very long time to get threw!! Some say that if you make it threw Nationals as a State Oficer then you won't have any trouble for the rest of the year and that we found that out very well!! While we were there 2 of our State Officers are now Nationals officers! They are:
Anthony Cofield who was our Alabama SkillsUSA-VICA State Secondary President is now the National Secondary Region II Vice-President!!
William Kenny who was our Alabama SkillsUSA-VICA State Postsecondary Vice President is now the National Postsecondary Treasurer.
Both of these younf men went to WLTI this past september and represidented our State with the dignity that this great state of ours deserved!! Both of these men deserve a great deal of gratitude. Now ladies and gentlemen!! The 1999 Alabama SkillsUSA-VICA Winners from the 35th VICA Skills USA Championships!!
