Meet us !
Our geographical home is a hundred year old house that used to be a farmstead on the outskirts of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We live from one renovation project to another. Between renovations we live quietly or noisily depending on the circumstances. All around us, yuppies are infiltrating our old fashioned community with upscale gadgeted homes squeezed into narrow lots. However a healthy mix of generations still exists thank goodness. There are five of us, mom, dad, Carl and Pen, , and Bijou our lovebird.

Mom is Lily and editor of this homepage. Lily emigrated to Canada many years ago from Northampton, England. She left professional life to throw herself into the unrelentless job of parenting. She has dabbled in"new age" activites since she was a teenager, cringes at the trendiness of it all, but is heartened that the movement offers alternatives for learning about spiritual consciousness. She owns a home business called Enchanted Wardrobe which offers quality play costumes for children. Her interests are spirituality, healing, writing, literature, art and clothing design to name a few.
Lily's pet hates are pretentious people and egos. Her most favorite place is the ocean.

Dad is Paul. Paul loves sports, cars and music. He would rather be doing things than talking about them. The internet is not his thing. Paul is a physical type. Contrary to Lily, he likes (nay, needs) to sweat. He has been praticising Tai Chi for several years now, having given up karate due to injuries. Paul's pet peeves are getting old and writing letters (in that order). His most favorite place is the golf course.

Carl, who is in the late french immersion program at Bishop Pinkham Junior High, thrives in a room that resembles the aftermath of a tornado. He loves socializing, singing, art, music, computer games and D&D. His goal is to have a regular life. Carl's fav place is Sentry Box.
- Pen

Pen is in grade 6 at Calgary Waldorf School. She adores sports, horses and animals and crafts. Her specialty is friendship bracelets. She has been selling her bracelets since grade 1 and has inspired others on the road towards entrepreneurship. Her ambition is to be rich. Pen's favorite place is the Public Library. She has caught the writing bug and there's no end in sight ! This is not a girl, it's a story machine ! Go to Pen's room for samples of her writing.
- Our Lovebird
- Bijou is a peachface dutch blue lovebird adopted as a baby fifteen months ago. He is tame but bossy. Bijou can be heard chirping his little heart out along with Pavarotti. On the other hand, he is not above competing with the vacuum cleaner (he wins, of course). Noise is his thing. For more about this little character go to Bijou 's page
