KNOWN FACTS: also known as Benjamin Isaac HALLETT, b. 20 Sep 1820/22, possibly in Salisbury, CT or NY; mother's name Polly (perhaps Mary?); sister's name Mary R. HALLETT who married Smith KEELER, brother of Benjamin's wife. Benjamin was married in North Salem, Westchester, NY, to Mary Elizabeth KEELER, dau of Samuel Dauchy KEELER and Sally ACKLEY. Children of Benjamin and Mary, all born in Katonah, Westchester, NY, or Ellenville, Ulster, NY: George Henry, b. 1846; Frank, b. 1849; Melissa, b. 1850; Emma Louisa, b. 1852; Ophelia, b. 1855; male child, b. 1856; Josephine, b. 1857; John Just (Justin?), b. 1859. Benjamin is first noted on an 1840 road assessment in Bedford, Westchester, NY. He was also residing in Bedford at the time of the 1850 US Census, occupation shoemaker. He next appears on the 1865 Illinois state census living in Newman, Douglas County. By 1870 Isaac Benjamin HALLETT and his wife Mary Elizabeth KEELER HALLETT, along with Smith KEELER and Mary R. HALLETT KEELER, were in Howell County, Missouri.
UNCONFIRMED RUMORS: We believe it possible that Benjamin was beamed down from outer space to Westchester County, NY, circa 1840. It is also rumored that he was the first in the U.S. to be place in the Witness Protection Program. (It could happen!!!!!)

Sometime between 1863 and 1868 the family moved from Ohio to Wisconsin,
by 1860 they were in Polk County, Iowa, and around sometime between 1874
and 1876 had moved on to Greene County, Iowa. Their final move was
to Rawlins County, Kansas, sometime after 1880. Frank's first wife,
presumably from Ohio, was Ellen BREWER. Their children were:
William C., b. ca 1862, OH; McClellan G., b. 1863, OH; Willard R., b. ca
1868, WI; Francis J., b. ca 1870, IA; Franklin, b. 1872, IA; and Thomas
Jefferson, b. 1874, IA.

BREWER died circa 1876 in Greene County, IA. Frank remarried to Mary
SLAVENS COMBS prior to the family's move to McDonald, Rawlins, KS.
Frank and Mary had the following children: Mary, b. ca 1876, IA;
Charles E., b. ca 1879, IA; Eleanor; John; and Lillie.
KNOWN FACTS: nickname "San" or "Sam", b. 2 Apr 1835. One source says he was born in Linn County, Missouri. Another source says he was born in Kansas. He was married first to Mary Frances CONN probably in Holt County, Missouri. San and Mary had at least two children: Elvore, b. ca 1859, d. 1872, and J.H., b. ca 1861. Both children were probably born in Holt County, MO. Mary died between 1861 and 1870 and is buried in the CONN family cemetery in Holt. Co. San's second marriage was to Mary Elizabeth BARKER, daughter of William "Bill" BARKER and Mary BARKER (first cousins married). Five children were born of this marriage: Dora, b. 1870; Martha Frances, b. 22 Oct 1875, MO; Tyra (son), b. 1890 NE; Lillie, b. 1884, KS; and Lou, b. aft 1884. San and Mary Elizabeth resided in Nemaha/ Richardson counties in Nebraska, just across the Missouri River from Holt Co., MO. Henry Sanford MARTIN died 18 May 1919 at the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 26 days. He is buried in Prairie Union Cemetery, Shubert, Richardson, NE.
