WILL OF MARIE FORD OF CHACOMBE 1641
In the name of God amen, I Marie Ford of Chacombe in the County of Northampton, widow, being weak and sick in body but of good and perfect memory, thanks be to God, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following;
First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Christ by whose merits only I expect salvation. My body decently to be buried in the church.
As for my worldly goods I bestow them in manner and form following;
Imprimis I give to Mr Michael Fox the elder ten shillings

To his son Richard I give 5s
Item I give to my brother William Warner four pounds
I give to Richard his son five pounds
I give to Katherin forty shillings
To my brother Williams three children by his last wife forty shillings apiece
To my brother Michael Warner I give six pounds
To his children forty shillings apiece
To my sister Elizabeth I give four pounds
To Gabriell Plestow forty shillings
To Henry Plestow 10 pounds
To William Plestow 40 shillings
To Richard Plestow 40 shillings
To my sister Anne Turpin I give ten pounds
To her children I give ten pounds equally to be divided amongst them
To my sister Friesewolde I give three shillings and four pence
To her son John Bayley I give five pounds
To Sarah Bayley I give fifty shillings
To Mary fifty shillings
To the rest of the daughters I give five pounds equally to be divided
To John Hautin I give five pounds
I give to Henry Warner, son of William Warner ten pounds
I give him likewise one bolster and pair of sheets, one blanket, one coverlet black and white
To my godchildren Mary Knight, Sarah Rouse,
John Bennett, Walter Clifford and Elizabeth Waddall I give four shillings apieceTo George Richardson his wife ten shillings
To Richard Hautin,
widow Cottesbrooke, widow Nuell, Christopher Nuell, widow Keay, Nicholas Durran, Sarah Rowse, Michael Norman, twelve pence apieceTo Richard Richardson one shilling
To Mr Mander I give ten shillings
To Mr Rogers ten shillings
All the rest of my goods and chattles, moveable and unmoveable, my house I live in, six acres and three quarters of land lying on the east side of Mr John Hautin's plot with all the appurtenances belonging to the house aforesaid, I give to Elizabeth Turpin whom I make the sole executrix of this my last will and testament
And I do appoint Henry Garner, John Hanlin and Richard Key to be overseers of this my will, to whom I give two shillings apiece

NB It is known from parish records and other wills that the above Warner family were frequently shown as WARNER alias WATTS or vice versa. I have not been able to ascertain why and when the name the name was first shown this way.
The name Hanlin MAY be Hautin.
