WILL OF EME BILLING OF WEEDON BECK 1539

In the name of God amen, the 18th day of the month of November in the year of our Lord God 1539 I Eme Billing of over Weedon Beck, widow, whole of mind & good of remembrance, being " thanked be God" make my testament & last will in manner following

First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God to our blessed lady Saint Mary his mother and to all the holy company of heaven, my body to be buried in the parish churchyard of the Holy Apostles Peter & Paul of Weedon aforesaid

Item I bequeath to the reparation of the bells.... 3s 4d

Item towards the maintaining of lights about the sepulchre 12d

Item to the maintaining of the rood light 4d

Item to Edmund Billing my son 20s

Item to Elizabeth Billing wife of the said Edmund Billing [illegible]

Item to Richard Billing my son 40s, twenty sheep and one heifer

Item to William Billing my son 40s, twenty sheep and one heifer

Item to William Gibbs my daughter's son [illegible] to be delivered to the said William Gibbs when he shall come to the age of twenty years

To my daughter Elizabeth ..... 10s

To my daughter Jone Jenkinson dwelling in [illegible] .shire 10s

The residue of all my goods unbequeathed ... my debts and legacies clearly discharged and paid I ..... that Edmund Billing and Richard Billing mine sons.... between them to whom and where they shall see most need .... as my special trust is in them

Item I do ordain constitute and ... the same Edmund Billing and Richard Billing my mine executors truly to execute and to do for the health of my soul and all Christian souls as best may please God
