WILL OF NICOLAS BILLING OF MIDDLETON MALSOR 1545
In the name of God amen, the year of our Lord God 1545 and the 16th day of April and in the 26th year of the reign of our most sovereign Lord Henry the Eighth by grace of God king of England, France & Ireland, Defender of the Faith and in the earth of the church of England & also of Ireland the Supreme Head I Nicolas Billing of Middleton Malsor having good mind though I be sick in body maketh my testament & last will in manner following
First I bequeath my soul to God Almighty and to our Lady Saint Mary and to all the holy saints in heaven, my body to be buried in the churchyard of Middleton Malsor aforesaid
Item I bequeath for my mortuary as the law will
Item I bequeath to the mother church of Peterborough 2d
Item I bequeath to the high altar "pro decimus oblitis" 2d
Item I bequeath to the rood light 4d
Item I bequeath to the sepulchre light 4d
Item I bequeath to the bells 4d
Item I bequeath to the torch light 4d
Item I bequeath to Thomas Billing my eldest son 26s 8d and my best shod cart

John Billing my second son 26s 8d and my best brass potItem I bequeath to Hary Billing my third son 20s
Item I bequeath to William Billing my fourth son 20s
Item I bequeath to Eme Billing my eldest daughter 20s
Item I bequeath to
Margaret Billing my second daughter 20s & a cow and of the bestItem I bequeath to Elizabeth Billing my third daughter 20s
Item I bequeath to Agnes Billing my fourth daughter 20s
Item I bequeath to Mary Billing my fifth daughter 20s
And if it fortune any of my foresaid children die before marriage then I will that his or her part be divided among them that be and live by any's [?] portion and so forth
And if it fortune that all my foresaid die so [except?] one I will that that one shall have all the others part
Item I bequeath to the "hye was" [highways] of the foresaid Middleton Malsor 12d
Item I bequeath to Agnes Bodge my sister a sheep.
the residue of my goods not bequeathed I give and bequeath them to Agnes my wife to her own proper .... and custody, my debts paid whom I make my full executrix to see this my last will & testament well and truly to be executed
