WILL OF THOMAS BILLING OF WEEKLEY 1547
In the name of God amen the 24th day of the month of September in the year of our Lord 1547 I Thomas Billing of Weekley, being of faithful remembrance, fearing the time uncertain, making my testament in this manner and form following
First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God and to the glorious Virgin, Our Lady & to all the glorious company heaven and my body for to be buried in the parish church yard of our Lady of "Weke Laye" [Weekley]
Item I bequeath to the mother church of Peterborough 4d
Item I bequeath to the poor men's box of Weekley 4d
Item I bequeath to the bells of Weekley 2 strikes of barley
Item I bequeath to my son Robert Billing my best mattress, the best coverlet, 2 pair of sheets, a flaxen pair, a harden pair, a bolster of ...., the best coffer, the best pot, the best pan, 3 platters of pewter, a pewter dish, 2 candlesticks, the "folden" table, the form, a chair, a buffet stool, 2 mares, a grey filly, the mare with one "hye" [eye], a brown cow, the done heifer a ....cow, a red done cow, 6 sheep and 2 lands of the best, 6 hives with bees, 6 quarters of malt, 6 quarters of barley, 2 quarters of them the best barley
Item I bequeath to young John Roys a ewe
Item I bequeath to Margery my daughter a "Bryndyd" cow, a calf of this year, 4 quarters of barley, a pot, a posnet, a pan best but one, a little pan, a "coudre", 4 pieces of pewter, 2 candlesticks, a "sawt seler" [salt cellar] a gown, a coverlet best save one, a "thromeled" coverlet, 2 pair of sheets, a pair of linen, a pair of harden, a mattress I give these goods to the finding of Robert Bishop

Item I bequeath to George Billing my son all my goods that is unbequeathed and he to bring me to the ground
Of the said goods, by the sight of Antony Billing and Edmond Cave I do make George Billing my son full executor and Antony Billing and Edmond Cave to be the supervisors & Antony? Billing to have to have a hive with bees & Edmond Cave 2s for the pains taking
