WILL OF AGNES BILLING OF MILTON 1547

In the name of God amen, the 2nd day of October the year of our Lord God 1547 and in the year of the reign of our sovereign Lord King Edward the 6th by the grace of God King of England France and Ireland, Defender of the faith and in earth under Christ, of the Church of England and Ireland, the Supreme Head witnesseth that I Agnes Billing, widow, of the parish of Milton, alias Middleton Malsor, being sick of body and whole of mind, do make my last will and testament in form following

First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God and my body to be buried in the church yard of Milton alias Middleton Malsor

I bequeath to the blessed sacrament in the same church 4d "pro decimus oblits"

I bequeath to the poor men's chest 4d

To the bells 6d

To the mother church of Peterborough 2d

I bequeath to Thomas my son 40s, 2 pair of sheets, 2 ewes and the lease of my house and the lease of Saint Lenards lands

I bequeath to John my son 20s and one ewe

I bequeath to Henry my son 20s

I bequeath my son William 20s

I bequeath to Eme my daughter 20s

I bequeath to Margaret my daughter 20s

I bequeath to Elizabeth my daughter 20s

I bequeath to Agnes my daughter 20s

I bequeath to Mary my daughter 20s and if any of my children above named do fortune to depart the world before they be of lawful age, my will is, the legacies of him or her whether it be, to be divided among the rest

The residue of my goods unbequeathed I do give them to Thomas Billing & William Mariet if God do his will of me, they see these my children to be honestly brought up til they come to discretion and I do make them my full executors to see that these my legacies be performed and to see my debts paid

I do make my supervisors Stephan Gilbert to see this my last will to be performed and he to have for his labour 20d
