WILL OF RICHARD SAMON OF KETTERING 1659
In the name of God amen,
the fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand six hundred fifty and seven *according to the computation of the Church of England.*[these word crossed out], I Richard Samon the elder of Kettering in the county of Northampton, Slatier, being sick in body but of good and perfect memory, praised be God therefore, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say,First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God trusting assuredly to be saved, in and through the precious death and merits of Jesus Christ my mediator and redeemer who liveth forever, Amen. And my body to the earth from whence it came
Item I do give and bequeath all my goods and chattles whatsoever, wheresoever, both moveable and unmoveable my funeral expences being discharged, unto Anne Samon my loving wife and Richard Samon my son and I make them both jointly full and sole executors of this my last will and testament
And I do hereby revoke and adnull all other wills, gifts and bequests heretofore given and bequeathed by me

This will was proved at London the fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred fifty and eight before the Judges for Probate, wills and granting Administrations lawfully authorized by the oath of Anne Samon the relict and Richard Samon the son, Executors to whom Administration was granted, they being first sworn by commission truly to administer.
