WILL OF WILLIAM HUMFREY OF BLAKESLY 1686

First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker, hoping that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins,

And for my body I commit it to the earth to be buried in the churchyard of Blakesly with such decency and ceremony and charges as my Executrix hereafter named shall think fit,

And as touching the distribution of my worldly goods which God in mercy hath been pleased to make me an unworthy steward of, I dispose of the same in the following manner,

Item I give unto my brother Edward Humfrey of Sulgrave the sum of one shilling.

Item I give unto Anne Wiseman the daughter of Edward Humfrey the sum of one shilling.

Item I give unto my godson William Even the sum of one shilling

Item I give unto my godson William Lathwell the sum of one shilling.

Item I give unto Thomas Tew of Woodend my best suit of wearing apparel.

Item I give unto my loving wife Mary Humfrey whom I make my whole and sole Executrix of this my last will and testament, I do give unto her all the rest of my goods and chattels of what nature and kind whatsoever they be for to pay all my debts and legacies unto whomsoever I do owe any debts unto and for to pay these my legacies within the space of six months after my decease, being lawfully demanded of my Executrix, of this my last will and testament revoking all other wills formerly made by me.
