WILL OF YATE PARGITER OF THENFORD 1693
October the 23 1693
In the name of God Amen,
I Yeat [sic] Pargiter of Thenford within the County of Northampton gent., do ordain & make this my last will & testament & first I commend my soul to God trusting through his mercy & only Christ his sons merits to be saved in his blessed kingdom & my body I commit to Christian burial.First I ordain my brother John Pargiter of Athorpe in the county aforesaid sole Executor of this my will.
Imprimis I give my wife all the goods in the kitchen above & below, that is all the goods that are within the kitchen buildings with the cheese & the bees & one hog & the ... poultry that "ar" above the ground with all the corn that is sowed upon the yard land & quartern & I give her all manner of good corn & peas to sow her land this year & I give her two cows, the brown cow & the "pide" cow that are fellows with ten ewes that are at Lichborough, neither the best nor the worst with corn to keep her house & the cows to be kept till the "bease" go in to the pasture with malt to keep her house this year until Michaelmas with all the wood that is cut about the ground.
Item I give my cousin William Turland of Charlton six pounds.
Item I give to my sister Cooper's children, her son Yeat five pounds, her son James five pounds, her son John ten pounds, her daughter Sarah ten pounds & all the rest of my brother's children I give ten pounds apiece.
Item I give to my brother Francis & my brother William twenty pounds apiece.
Item I give my sister Grace forty shillings.
Item I give my brother John Pargiter full power to sell the reversion of that land at "
Throupe" to pay these legacies & I give to him all the two yard lands that Foulke Cooper & William Austing hold of me, to him forever.Item I give to Ann Horn my servant maid forty shillings.
Item I give to John Bliss my man twenty shillings & all the rest of my goods unbequeathed I give to my brother John my sole Executor of this my last will & testament in witness hereof I have hereunto I have set my hand & seal the day & year first above written.

which day appeared personally John Osborne, Thomas Timms, and Francis Blaby, all of Fenford, alias Thenford in the county of Northampton and by virtue of their respective corporal oaths deposed that the names subscribed as witnesses to the last will and testament of Yate Pargiter late of Thenford aforesaid deceased, bearing date October 23rd 1693 was and is the respective proper hand writing of them the said John Osborne, Thomas Timms, and Francis Blaby, they further severally deposed (that the words signed, sealed published and declared were not set down in writing), that the said Yate Pargiter did sign seal publish and declare the above mentioned for and as his last will and testament in the presence of those deponents, those deponents after he so signed sealed published & declared.
