WILL OF ROBERT POYNER OF PAULERSPURY 1559

In the name of God amen, this last day of June in the year of our Lord God a thousand five hundred fifty and nine, I Robert Poyner of the town and parish of Pawlespurye, sick in body but whole of remembrance, thanks be unto Almighty God do make and ordain my last will and testament in manner and form following

First I bequeath my body and soul unto Almighty God willing that when my soul is departed from this miserable life, that then my body shall be buried in the churchyard of Pawles Purye.

Item to the mother church of Peterborough 2d

Item I bequeath my lease of Nesterfeldes in the parish of Shelswell the sheep, horses, mares, geldings and beasts to my three sisters equally to be divided amongst them.

Item I bequeath twenty pounds which John Pincarde of Toster [ Towcester] Mr Sommers Awlbert of London and Mr Lewson doth owe to my brother's son Thomas Poyner to be delivered when he cometh to 21 years.

Item I bequeath 16 score sheep which be at Pawlespurye to my three sisters equally to be divided amongst them.

Item I bequeath all my household stuff ay Paulesperye to my sister Lane

Item I bequeath to my sisters equally to be divided amongst them, the corn and hay which is in Pawlesperye

Item to William Barton ten sheep one cow a featherbed, a bolster and a coverlett

Item to my Aunt Anne Towne one cow.

Item to Mr John Foxley ten pounds

Item I bequeath the lease of Southfelde to William Hense at Tyffelde

Item I bequeath to my sister Lyes' children equally to be divided amongst them 40s

The rest of all my goods, moveable and unmoveable, my debts, legacies and burial performed, then I will and give all the rest of my goods to Mr John Foxley and to my brother Richard Lane whom I make my full Executors, these being witnesses William Nonney amd John Cats, Robert Poyner
