Corvette fuel rail cover installation

From ( http://www.magicnet.net/~ebf/install.htm):

These are the parts needed to install the fuel rail covers on an f-body:

10108672 Stud-f/in Corvette Fuel Rail Covers 1.02 (4)
10208794 Cover Asm Corvette Fuel Rail Covers 7.58
10208795 Cover Asm Corvette Fuel Rail Covers 7.58
10214035 Hose-p/b Corvette Fuel Rail Covers ** 5.31

** The hose is used because it allows you to route it UNDER the fuel rail covers. Its molded. You will need some standard adapters available from hardware stores for the hose, since it is of a slightly smaller diameter than the standard F-body hose. [ IF YOU HAVE ASR THIS PIECE IS NOT NECESSARY]

If you want to modify the covers so they don't say "CORVETTE" like I did, also get:

10221722 Silver "Formula V8" Decal 11.60 (2)

To modify the covers just fill in the letters with Bondo, sand them flush and spray paint the covers with engine paint.

Basically what you need to do is to push the bundle of wires that goes over the top of the intake manifold to behind it. Then move or turn any other little brackts or things that prevent the covers from laying properly. Replace the p/b hose on the driver's side with the adapted Corvette one. Lay the covers on for a test fit, and then cut away the places where you need clerance: The alternator bracket and a hose on the passenger side, and a large section of the rear on the driver side for fuel lines. Then screw down the studs and carefully press the covers onto the manifold and the studs. Be careful here because the clips that mount onto the studs can brake off easily.

More specific instructions to go along with that site:

Passenger side

- There is this sort of vacuum assembly where the front stud goes, you have to remove this bracket and separate the sensor from it (just press in on the tab and lift). Loosen and turn the vacuum lines until you can press it into that bit of space there, you will have to fool with it for a while.
- The fuel lines that are encased in that hose loom must be relocated; take the bundle off the top of the manifold, remove the little clips, and press the hose behind the motor

Driver side

- You have to cut off that nice corvette emblem hump, I cut it off at the joint with the lower level.
- Relocate the aforementioned fuel hose tight in the area between manifold and valve cover and then behind the brass fpr bracket (it is a tight fit wedged behind)
- Place the cover on the manifold and apply some pressure; guesstimate where the traction control box assembly would contact and notch the cover for it ( it is better to be too tight and cut again than to have an ugly gap.. ;) ).
- I continued the gap all the way across in hopes of clearing that nefarious fuel hose, I also notched the back of the cover about 2 millimeters away from the last "e" in "Corvette", stopping at the top of the "e" to clear the brass FPR bracket.
- Unfortunately these two cuts might not have been necessary as I still could not snap the back stud in. ( It is very close and you can barely tell but it bothers me, I am going to unhook the fuel lines and attempt to reroute. I will let you know)
- Lastly don't try and put that black plastic cable that goes to the TB under the cover, it goes on top, there is a special notch for it.
