|CD 103: REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES|
|Within each nation, and within each state, some regions enjoy economic prosperity while others remain comparatively poorer and less economically developed.
This short course and class discussion introduces the concept of "regional macroeconomics" and surveys the ways to encourage regional economic development and growth.
The course is a one-day lecture and discussion course.
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
1. understand macroeconomic and regional macroeconomic concepts and processes.
2. understand the role of households, businesses, governments, banks, and the "foreign sector" in the economic process and in economic development at both the national and regional level.
3. understand theories of economic development and apply those theories to economic development of your municipal area or region.
This course is recommended for professional and volunteer leaders of organizations concerned with economic development, community leaders, political leaders, business leaders, and all concerned citizens.
