ADM 101: WRITING THE CASE STATEMENT
The case statement is the primary document used by the non-profit organization in its media relations, public relations, marketing, and fundraising. The case statement consists of sixteen concise paragraphs, each containing essential information about the organization and the programs the organization currently operates and intends to operate in the future.

This course describes the contents of each of the sixteen paragraphs and provides practical guidance and direction for writing each of the paragraphs. This course is offered as either a half-day or one day course, depending on the writing workshop needs of the client. Usually a brief writing workshop follows the description of each of the sixteen items so that students leave the day-long workshop with a draft case statement for their organization.

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

1. list and defin each of the essential elements in the case statement.

2. draft a written case statement for your organization.

3. use the case statement in writing appeal, solicitations, annual reports, and grant proposals.

This course is
recommended for the executive staff, members of the organization's governing board, and chairpersons and members of fundraising, long-rang planning, and public relations committees.
