My children's books include:
(Lerner, 1996), non-fiction, for middle readers. A look at the history of whales and the whaling industry in the days of sail.
(Dawn Publications, 1998), a picture book using cumulative verse to introduce children in grades K-4 to the wonders of the marine food web. Imagine "This is the house that Jack built" being constructed with sea creatures. That's what this book does. Along with the rhyme it includes interesting facts about the marine food web.
This book was named to the 1999 "Teachers' Choices" list of of the International Reading Association".
(Runestone, 1999), Non-fiction for middle readers. An exploration of life in and arounded China's capitol, from prehistoric times to the present.
