I make no claims to anyone who sends me a poem to put up. Your poetry is your poetry. I only wish to display it on my site to support your wonderdul talent.

All of my poetry has been copyrighted and I own them. If you would like to post one of my poems on your site, I need you to send me an e-mail asking me to use it and telling me your site address. Don't steal my works, I have posted them up here for your enjoyment, please respect that.

If you feel uncomfortable sending me poems because you are worried about copyright issues, here are some things you can do:

From the website "Poetry ...from the ground up"

  • Mail your work to yourself. The postage marked on the package, showing that it was received on a certain date, by a government facility is proof of copyright. But remember.....DO NOT OPEN IT!! Keep the package sealed. Breaking the seal voids the copyright.
  • Send a copy of your work to the Library of Congress along with a completed short form TX. To get blank forms call (202)707-3000 or contact them on their web site, www.loc.gov/copyright. It takes about two weeks to receive the forms. And any where from 6-8 months for a conformation of your copyright. The good news is, you are protected while the copyright is in process.
  • Always end your work with a "copyright (the year) (your name)"."
