Tender Air
The air smells like a battle
Fought long ago
When I breathe it in
It cleanses my insides
Brings a slight chill to my heart
But one that can be tender
It reminds me of other times in my life
When I would let its scent seep into my lungs
The air feels like a cool touch from God
Calming my arms, soothing my body
I can almost feel the other people it has touched
I can almost see them when I close my eyes
Once the hands of air touch mine
I am surprisingly captivated
It is my life source
Feeding my lungs
Allowing my heart to beat
Let this moment stretch into a thousand
