In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, butter and boiling water and let stand 10 minutes to cook the oats. Stir in cornmeal, sugar, bouillon, milk, cheese and egg and mix well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off. Add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing well until a stiff dough forms. On a floured surface, knead in remaining flour until dough is smooth and no longer sticky for 3-4 minutes. Roll or pat out dough to 1/2" thickness. "Animals are such agreeable friends-they ask no questions; they pass no criticisms." ~George Eliot My local Humane Society is collecting symbols from various Heinz Pet products to raise money for homeless animals. Look on the back of your pet's Heinz treats to see if they carry the "Save Morris the Cat" or "Homeless Homer" symbols...then cut them out and mail them to: You'll be helping many animals without homes receive shelter and care. Of course, any financial help is also needed. Get involved with your local animal shelters, too; there is always a demand for volunteers and donations...not to mention good homes for the many animals there. Thank you! |
