Who can be covered by the new collective contract?
Any academic staff member who joins ASTE and who authorises ASTE to bargain on their behalf, be they part-time, full-time, casual, on an expired ASTE collective contract or any other form of individual contract, will, subject to a final settlement, be eligible to be covered by the new collective contract.
ASTE members make two requests to you.
Their preference is for you to join them in their efforts to procure an educationally sound renewed collective employment contract of which you can become a party.
If you do not wish to do this, could you please not accept any work that would normally be performed by ASTE members. This may be an inconvenience now but in the long term, will greatly assist collegiality and protect staff conditions of employment.
