A picture of my friends in grade 12. This was our last day of school before we left to study (yeah right) for our final exams. Yep... I'm the one with the convict-attire. Afraid of criminals? Pleez... this bunch below makes Jeffrey Dahmer look like Elmer Fudd. (By the way... I'm the only one that turned out normal.)

Tomorrow's leaders : Front : Lisbé Ferreira, Garth Stoffberg, Carlo Breytenbach, Chris Dippenaar. Back : Maryke Havenga, Elizna Compion, Jolandé Barnard, Saretha Fourie, Jacobus Schietekat, Juanita Roos.

Some more of my grade 12 friends, including my Afrikaans teacher, Mrs Rika du Plessis. Afrikaans is one of South Africa's 11 official languages, closely related to Dutch. This picture was taken a few hours after the one above (when we trashed our snazzy outfits for boring school uniforms). The poster shows our teacher with one of her favourite exclamations. 'Hou julle groot pienk bekke' can roughly be translated to 'Shut your big pink traps'.

Goodbye teacher : Front : Elizna Compion, Garth Stoffberg, Saretha Fourie, Carlo Breytenbach. Middle : Maritza Niemand, Mrs Rika du Plessis, Lisbé Ferreira, Maryke Havenga. Back : Jolandé Barnard, Juanita Roos, Ernst Thompson, Ernest Lötter.

A picture of me on a flight back to Cape Town from Bloemfontein (a boring place somewhere in South Africa). I still wonder what that flight stewardess was doing at the back. Scratching an itch maybe?

Cape town here I come : Garth Stoffberg, weird flight stewardess.

Here we are at our Matric farewell. The food was up to shit and we paid R160 per couple!! (That's about US $33.) Luckily the rest of the evening turned out OK. Hmmm... do you also notice Deidré's 'Yes, I'm a tart'-expression?

Let's party : Front : Deidré Dippenaar & Carlo Breytenbach, Garth Stoffberg & Martine Maltby. Back : Erm.. forgot her name & Jacobus Schietekat, Juanita Roos & Chris Dippenaar, Nadia Saayman & Ernest Lötter.

A stunning photograph taken by Carlo Breytenbach on our flight back to Cape Town. One can see the TygerValley Centre, one of the biggest shopping centres in the Western Cape. To the left is the Bellville Athletics Stadium. The cycling track has been converted to a velodrome (picture taken before construction started) and recently hosted the World Junior Track Cycling Championships. The two lakes in the picture will also become part of a mini-waterfront.

High in the sky : In the air above TygerValley.

My most recent photo taken in December 1997. I was on vacation in Mossel Bay and went to visit Hartenbos for a day. Can't you see how happy I am, sitting there on the beach? (For public safety reasons, I decided to keep my shirt on.)

Beach bum : Garth Stoffberg, lazing on the beach.
