Response to "Papa G" Forever Nineteen
The wind that blows tween hairs so wild
Filling the ears with sounds, undenied
Words made to the rhythm of steel
Steel making words to overcome fear.
The Rose be it named or just admired
Keeps hope eternal, especially when wild
Truth becomes an icon for honor
Love becomes a dream always unfulfilled
No, none are love from just above
But all are loved from each and another
Friends and kin, thick and thin
Flags of black and armbands too
Dreams never seen, never known, never grew
No war is ever won, when loss of one is done
Monuments only allow the living one more chance
To remember, embrace with words and poems
All those friends and kin, even those forgotten or lost
To one and all, to then and now.
Freedom costs too much, but no other way has been found
To have freedom and yet two wheels to the ground.
