On Friday, February 28th, 2003, WWVV-FM (Wave 106.9) and country station WGZR-FM (Gator 104.9) flipped frequencies. In the switch, WWVV-FM flipped formats from Modern AC to AAA as "Modern Music - Wave 104.9". They now play artists like Norah Jones, Elvis Costello, Dashboard Confessional, Beck, Coldplay, Tori Amos, great diverse songs from catalog artists like The Clash, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Tom Petty and many, many more. Savannah now has a AAA station to combat the stale mediocrity that has populated its airwaves for so long. One listen will truly prove exactly why Wave 104.9 is "radio for the rest of us". Wave 104.9's official website launches, in the near future, at http://www.wave1049.com
On Friday, September 13th, 2002 WWVV-FM (Wave 106.9) flipped formats to Modern AC. The station is now known as "Modern Hits - The New Wave 106.9", and plays artists like Norah Jones, Pink, Michelle Branch, John Mayer, Avril Lavigne, and more. The alternative format has moved over to WFXH-FM (formerly active rock), with the new positioner "Rock 106.1 - Savannah and Hilton Head's New Rock Station"). Both stations websites are found below.

WWVV-FM The New Wave 106.9
Well, it's finally been done. Almost three years after I started this site for the modern rock station in Savannah, Georgia, they've launched their official website at http://www.wave1069.com. As such, I've decided to take down my site. The new site far surpasses mine and I think you'll agree with me it offers a ton more. So thanks to ALL of you that frequented this site over the three years it's lasted. I appreciate your support and wish you well. With their new site up, I'll now devote my full attention to my other website http://www.reocities.com/thefilmcritic3000 and reviews of new and old movies. Once again I thank you and hope that you'll visit my new site from time to time.
