Mets fire Manager Art Howe after 2 horrible seasons.

10/21/04

Yankees bench coach Willie Randolph is presently the front-runner for the Mets managerial position. He will interview on Monday 10/25/04. Dodgers bench coach Jim Riggleman will also interview. Believe it or not, former manager Bobby Valentine may also be in the picture. General manager Omar Minaya says his search is winding down, but a new manager will probably not be in place until the end of the World Series.

11/04/04

Willie Randolph has been hired as the Mets manager. Hopefully he'll bring a fresh approach to the game of baseball for the Mets. Good luck Willie.

Mets get a couple of top-level free agents!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Mets have inked Pedro Martinez and Carlos Beltran to multiple-year contracts. Let's hope they bring some excitement and fresh enthusiasm to the Mets clubhouse this season.

01/26/2005

Mets acquire Doug Mientkiewicz from the Boston Red Sox for first base prospect Ian Bladergroen.
