SNIPING

Some call it camping, some call it sniping.  Either way its part of the game... but there is a difference between sniping and camping.  Camping is sitting in one spot, waiting for the others to come by for an easy kill.  Rarely ever moving from the start area.  Sniping is 50% killing with one shot and 50% manuevering/positioning.  Sniping is the ability to use first round kill tactics, and stalking or manuevering for better positioning on your opponent.  In, Sniping, you need to be aware of the basics, but dont overuse any of them....or thats when you become a camper.

WEAPON SELECTION-
First and foremost is your weapons.  Both your primary and secondary are vital as a sniper.  Both need to achieve the same results, high first round kill ratios.  Now your secondary should be one that is easy for you to use, and also one you play well with in close quarters where the usuall sniper weapons [ if used ] arent as stable.  Your primary needs to be one that hits and kills with one shot or burst.  You dont need a sniper weapon for this but the biggest advantage over a reg weapon is its zoom.  So if you shoot and kill well with the MP510 use it.  But for larger maps, experiment with others where a better zoom may be to your advantage.  The happy medium between sniper weapons and smg's are the assault catagory.  They have decent zoom, with good rate of fire which provides a comprimise but nice combination of what you want.  The biggest problem in that area is its retical/recoil control.  This can be solved by using three round burst or single shot.  One last part is if you use a smaller caliber weapon, you need to master the head shot.  In the game, players have taken 3 rounds or even more from a 7.62mm round.  Its rare but achieving a head shot assures a almost certain first round kill with any weapon you choose, even your secondary.

KIT ITEMS-
Your kit selection shouldnt be overlooked.  The map your on will ultimately dictate what you will use, but experimenting with all the kit items can help due to kit restrictions, mods, and special map rules in a game.  Sensors are important.  If you snipe, you may be moving on your opponent for the kill and HBS-ing of some sort will achieve the fastest result.  SA varients are great with maps with one main level or when you prefer to have your weapon ready without losing your sensor capability.  Jammers are the same way.  The work great on defending the rush or countering other snipers since they denie the use of sensors.  C-4 is a good way to defend blind spots where your setting up for a kill.  Smoke can help you on low visability maps while moving over or through open areas.  And even flashbangs can stun your opponent for that split second if kit restrictions are in effect pertatining to frags.  All in all, knowing all kit items from the binos to the false HB puck will give you multiple options in different situations.   But use all of these with patience and discipline.  If you dont, you will become more of a camper than a sniper.

POSITIONING/MANUEVERING-
If you still dont see a difference in sniping and camping, well this is where they separate.  Sniping is manuevering on your opponent to achieve better positoining for the kill, whether its close or far away.  Camping is no movement but sitting for the games length waiting for some poor bastard.  Sniping is also the ability to stalk or hunt down your foe.  Its not like rushing due to you stopping at times to use HBS's or scan potential areas for contact.  Sniping is also firing only once or twice from one spot, then repositioning to take away the posibility of detection.  Camping is staying in that spot for the whole game.  And finally, sniping is maximizing the terrain to your advantage.  Like in the jungle map the terrain is filled with loads of concealment and spots for you to blend in with to keep from being detected, also your uniforms and the maps can enhance all of this.  Ideally, you shoot from one spot then move, use terrain to your advantage, and dont stay in one spot too long.  Stay active, and constantly using the map to your advantage.

ENDSTATE-
Whether you like it or not, its part of the game and shouldnt be underestimated.  Sniping is an art, and ones who do it well, are always a threat.  Its you using the map and its terrain to your advantage to get better positoining, stalking your opponent, and killing with first round or burst. Theres nothing like hearing that CRACK of a high powered rifle and seeing the enemys head snap back exposing the third eye now present in his forehead, or seeing him peak around a corner and you send him spining with a well placed shot.
