Jan. 25: We woke to a lovely blanket of crystal white snow covering the landscape. What a fantastic sight. Every tree & bush covered in a beautiful white mantel. I shoveled the snow for the first time in years, & loved it! I did both our driveway & sidewalk. Later a city snowplough came by & accidentally covered our driveway with compacted snow from the street. The driver smiled & waved. I waved back & shoveled it again.
Jan. 26: It snowed an additional five inches last night & the temperature droped to 11 degrees. Several limbs on the trees & shrubs snapped due to the weight of the snow. I shoveled the driveway again. Shortly afterwards the snowplough came by again & did his trick. Much of the snow is brownish - grey.
Jan. 27: It warmed up enough during the day to create slush which soon became ice when the temperature dropped again. Bought snow tires for both cars. Fell on my ass in the driveway. $145 to the chiropracter, but nothing broken. More snow & ice expected.
Jan. 28: Still cold. Sold the wife's car & bought a 4 X 4 in order to get to work. Slid into a gaurdrail & did a considerable amount of damage to the right rear quarter pannel. Had another eight inches of white shit last night. Both veicles are covered with salt & crud. More shoveling instore for me today. That goddam snowplough came by twice today.
Jan. 29: -8 degrees outside, more dam snow. Not a tree or shrub on our property that hasn't been damaged. Power was off most of the night. Tried to keep from freezing to death with candles & kerosine heater which tipped over & nearly burnt the house down. I managed to put the flames out, but suffered third degree burns on my hands & lost all of my eyebrows & eyelashes. The car slid on ice while on my way to emergency room & was totaled.
Jan. 30: Goddam white shit keeps coming down. Have to put on all the clothes we own just to get to the goddam mailbox. If I ever catch that son-of-a-bitch who drives the snowplough, I'll chew open his chest & rip out his heart. I think he hides round the corner & waits for me to finish shoveling & then comes down the street at 100 MPH & buries our driveway again! Power still off. Toilet is froze & part of the roof has caved in.
Jan. 31: 6 More goddam inches of snow & ice & God knows what other kind of white shit fell last night. I wounded the dam snowplough asshole with an ice-axe, but he got away. Wife left me. Car won't start. I think I'm going snowblind. I can't move my toes. Haven't seen the sun in weeks. More snow predicted. Wind chill -22 f-ing' degrees. I'm moving back to Victoria!! @
