In 1932 Marshal and Tanya South built an adobe cabin on the top of Ghost Mountain in Blair Valley. They lived "off the land" there for 15 years during which time their 3 children were born; Rider, Rudyard and Victoria. Marshal and Tanya were both writers and artist who wrote for Desert Magazine for more than 8 years.
