From: Megan Reilly Newsgroups: alt.tv.x-files.creative Subject: NEW: The Strange File (SL/XF) SHORT! Date: Sun, 10 Dec 1995 12:18:59 -0800 I don't know about you all, but I was really frustrated and unsatisfied by the ending of Friday's Strange Luck...so I thought I'd set down some scenes from a crossover, the way I'd like to see it. And now that I've written it, I feel better. So these are SCENES, not really a story. There's no ending...be warned. Disclaimer: Mulder, Scully, Cigarette Smoking Man, Krycek = Chris Carter's. Chance, Angie, Eric = Karl Schaeffer's. (Spelling?) Feel free to email me - but I'm not expecting a lot of comments. Surprise me. I'd LOVE to hear from any Strange Luck fans out there. The Strange File by Megan Reilly eponine@uci.edu Mulder and Scully left the diner and walked down the street in the warm sunshine. "So what did you think?" asked Scully. "He seems like a sweet guy." "I felt sorry for him," said Mulder. Scully gave him that look. "No seriously...but he reminded me of a guy I saw in a UFO movie." "Really?" said Scully. "He makes me think of ice skating." She shrugged. They walked on. XXX "I know a way we can get some answers," said Chance Harper. Mulder and Scully watched as Chance grabbed a roll of masking tape and put an X on his window. Scully raised her eyebrows at Mulder. "I have seen some familiar faces lurking about town," said Mulder. "Chance?" said Scully. "What's this?" Chance turned to them. "There's this woman...she gives me information about my brother. This is how I get in touch with her." "Looks like cell phones are a thing of the past," remarked Scully. "Now we have tape." XXX Angie took the trash out behind the restaurant and shivered. It was starting to get cold at nights now. And she thought she felt someone watching her. She stiffened as she heard the sound of a familiar cigarette lighter and turned. The man remained in the shadows as he lit his cigarette. "Angie." he said. "Long time no see." "Oh you!" she cried, throwing herself into his arms and kissing him. "I've missed you." XXX The warehouse was dark as the two men met. "Krycek." "Vandenberg." "You have the tape?" asked Eric. Alex (Krycek) nodded. "How do I know -?" "We go way back, don't we?" said Eric. "Yeah-" Krycek hesitated. "I'll get it to him." Eric said. "Not till I'm out of the country." "Of course not." promised Eric and Alex handed him the DAT tape with the hacked MJ files on it. XXX "So where is your Ms. X?" Mulder asked dryly. "She'll be here." Chance stated nervously. "She will." Scully patted his arm. "She's late," she said kindly. Chance turned his blue eyes to her and she forced a smile. Chance liked her and while she thought he was nice, she was working on a case. Chance jumped up. "There she is." The woman in all black with a veil over her face turned and approached them. "She - uh - uses an electronic voice. She had anthrax." "Anthrax!" cried Scully. "Don't bug her about it," said Chance. "They - uh - experimented on her." "Oh," said Scully, a shiver going through her, memory-visions of experimentation flooding her mind. Mulder put his hand on her shoulder and she glanced at him to thank him for his support. The woman reached them. "Hey," said Chance. "My God," she said. "Fox." Scully's eyes widened. Chance's gaze whipped from Ms. X to Mulder and back. "You know him?" he asked Ms. X. "I - I - I - Fox." She said, then turned and ran. Mulder turned to Scully. His face was white. "Tell me I'm wrong," he pleaded. "Hit me with your logic." "Abductees...experimented on...Mulder, I'm sorry." Scully said, unwanted tears blocking her throat. "I think...it's her." "No, Scully. Not like this." Mulder said, his voice breaking. He turned cold eyes to Chance. "You got your brother back. I lost my sister. And she's not coming back." He turned and walked away in the same direction the woman had gone. XXX - End. That's all I wrote. I couldn't think of any resolution. If anyone else wants to pick this up and have a go, be my guest. I want to believe...a Strange Luck/X Files cross is coming. Now I return you to your normal fanfic. Megan
