Chocca Shaw Curlies


This is Chocca-Shaw's Winter Wonder, WCQ, MH "Jade".... She is the first female curly coated retriever in the breed's history to reach the title of AKC Master Hunter and 2nd over all in the breed!!....and she did it with style, earning her title by qualifying in seven tests in a row! Jade went on from there to qualify in 20 consecutive AKC Master Hunt tests. To date, she has qualifed in about 35 Master tests.

Jade is also the only curly coated retriever to ever qualify to run the Master National Retriever Hunt test. This is for the "cream of the crop" Master Hunters and is held in each region of the US one time per year. You have to qualify every year at five AKC Master tests to be eligible to run the Master National. Jade has qualified at this event twice, 1999 in South Carolina and again in 2000 in Indiana, earning her the title MNHR (Master National Hunting Retriever) Heartbreakingly, three other years, she has made it to the last series. Her overall career in AKC competition hunting tests has been flawless. She is very easily trained, loves to retrieve and is a pleasure to run! She is also a very avid and reliable upland hunting dog, when she is not at weekend hunt tests.


If Jade qualifies a third year, she will be put in the Master National Hall of Fame!

Watch for Jade's daughter "Dani Marie" Chocca-Shaw's Christmas Wish coming up and attempt to follow in her mom's footsteps, after her 2004 litter. (see information about that on this homepage) Also, look for some of Jade's pups coming up and competing in AKC hunt tests!!
