The Paris Horizon From The 9th Floor of Samaritaine's Dept. Store

We flew from Calgary together on May 3rd and slept on the flight arriving in London around noon on the 4th.  We caught the "Jack the Ripper tour through the White Chapel area and hit the hay.  On the 5th we walked through London on what dad said was the sunniest day he had ever seen in England (I got a sunburn).  These pictures are from that walk.  Below is dad at the changing of the gaurd at Buckingham palace and on the right is dad at Trafalgar square looking up at Lord Nelson.
After London we took the train and ferry to Calais where we caught some celebrations linked to their successful football team.  The next two days were in Paris (see above) which dad had last seen 40 years ago! These are painters looking at the spires of Nortre Dame, dad at the Louvre and me at a Latin quarter Cafe with a good coffee and a baguette.
After Paris we returned to Englad first to Dover for a couple of days and then to Salisbury where we caught the Cathedral, Stonhenge, Avebury and Old Sarum (as we were "climbing up on Salsibury hill"!).

On our day out from Salisbury we took the "coach" to Stonehenge and then to Avebury where we met a nice couple who told us about the walk in Tom Brown's
School days from Rugby to Avebury in the "Veil of the
Horses". The veil is a valley with a bunch of ancient carvings into the hills to make these white horses - very cool. Dad also showed me how he figures the natives must have danced up the walkway of Avebury (thus his pose).
In Somerset we met a cousin from about 300 years back in the Family tree.  Col. Dennis Brewin had tracked us down through email and was very informative about the Brewins' history.  He was great host!  Here he is with Dad.  Can you see the family resembalance?!
I'll post more pictures of Norther Wales (Tremirchion), Beckfoot and Pendle Hill as I get copies of the pictures.
