PYT - The Story
PYT. Sure, you may not hear about them much...yet. With a hot new single and an album to be released late this year, you'll be hearing about them. And when they're as big as BSB, you can brag that you knew about them "way back when." Intrigued? Read on.
Comprised of four teens with amazing voice from Tampa, FL - Ashley Niven, Lauren Mayhew, Lydia Bell, and Tracy Williams - PYT has been compared to everyone from En Vogue to a female Backstreet Boys. They had known each other for quite some time when they decided to take matters into their own hands in 1998. With encouragement from their parents, they worked on their vocal skills and learned some choreography. In 1999, they got a contract with Epic Records and they released their first single, "Something More Beautiful," the same year. After touring with Britney Spears and Nsync, they started to work on an album. It took a million different cuts and fans have been anxiously biting their nails for months, but it's finally finished and due out within a few months.
Need to buy some PYT now? They landed not one, but *two* songs on the soundtrack for "Center Stage." And one of the songs, "We're Dancin," is even played during the closing credits of the movie! I highly recommend the soundtrack - with or without PYT. But with PYT makes it an album that can't be beat. =)
